Shop for a Cause Program

The downturn of the national economy has had an adverse affect on charitable and non-profit organizationsas well as many local businesses. In order to counteract this trend, many non-profits, like Center for Wildlife are partnering with local merchants. The Shop for a Cause program will help Center for Wildlife provide critical medical care to local wildlife and community education programs and it will also introduce new customers to our business partners - local merchants like you!

How does it work?

All you have to do is register to participate in our Wild About Shopping program. Once your application is approved, your business will be identified as a Friend of Center for Wildlife. Soon after, your selected "Wild About Shopping" dates will be posted on our website, events calendar Facebook page - (with close to 1,000 friends), listed in our monthly e-newsletter (with over 3,000 subscribers), promoted through our other partners like local schools and community groups, and announced in local radio spots and newspapers (when available). We will ask all of our mutual friends to also promote your Wild About Shopping date(s) on their own websites and Facebook pages to acknowledge you as a Friend of the Center for Wildlife deserving of their patronage.

Our goal is to make this a long lasting partnership that brings new (and frequent) customers to your door while helping us continue our mission of wildlife rescue and education.

How do I sign up?

• Click here to download and fill out the Shop for a Cause "Wild About Shopping" Registration form. You can call us to pick it up, mail it or scan it and attach it to an email to education@yorkcenterforwildlife.org. Whatever works for you!
• Choose to host an "after hours" social and shopping event, choose a single date and / or or pick a time period for your Shop for a Cause program (one or several days, a week or two, month, etc.) and indicate on your Registration form. We will do our best to schedule you on your preferred date(s).
• Promote your Wild About Shopping days on your own website, through word-of-mouth, and throughout your store with flyers or posters.
• Record all purchases on your Wild About Shopping day(s) and within one week of each Wild About Shopping day(s), forward a check made out to Center for Wildlife for your selected percentage(see application form) of that day's pre-tax sales. Within 3 business days we will send you a thank you letter and official Record of Donation.

Dine for a Cause Program

The Dine for a Cause program will help Center for Wildlife provide critical medical care to local wildlife and community education programs while introducing new customers to our business partners - including local restaurants like you!
